Japanese Field Studies B:Ushiku Great Buddha Tour(Tuesday,January 23rd)

On January 23 (Tuesday), we conducted the "Ushiku Great Buddha Tour" with fourteen international students as part of the class called Japanese Field Studies B.

We visited the Ushiku Great Buddha to experience and learn about Japanese culture and traditions. Students also experienced “Syakyo” (making a handwritten copy of a sutra). We learned and experienced Japanese culture and tradition through the activity.

Participating students commented, “I like the museum in Ushiku Daibutsu”, “I felt peace after going to Ushiku Daibutsu” and " This experience allowed me to experience Japanese culture and religious aspects”. Seems like students were able to experience Japanese culture and enjoy learning about it.
