COIL Project Presentation Critically Thinking about “Japanese Culture”(Friday,December 20)

COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) is an educational method in which students from two or more colleges in two or more countries are connected online and study together under the supervision of faculty members from both countries. In the general education course "Collaborative International Learning (Minnesota)," our students had been interacting online since September with students from Macalester College in Minnesota and the University of Wisconsin-Superior in Wisconsin to critically rethink "Japanese culture. On the morning of December 20, 2024, we held an online presentation to share the results of their study. This presentation was also part of the International Student Conference in Ibaraki, and in addition to the 12 students, four guests from Japan, Korea, and the United States attended.

Each presentation was very interesting as it offered a critical look at conventionally accepted "Japanese" values!
