"Short-term Study Abroad Program in Vietnam" (Tuesday, February 18-Thursay, March 6)

27 students who participated in a short-term study abroad program at Haiphong University in Vietnam returned home safely on Thursday, March 6. In this program, the students stayed in Haiphong City, Vietnam for 17 days and attempted to understand how Japanese companies, the Japanese language, and Japanese culture are influencing the revitalization of local cities overseas through visits to local Japanese companies, elementary and junior high schools, and lectures provided by Haiphong University.

During their stay, the participants were busy organizing a Japanese culture experience event for children in Haiphong City and an exchange meeting with local high school students in cooperation with students who are studying to become Japanese language teachers at Haiphong University. They also spent very productive days trying on ao dai, experiencing cultural experiences such as bamboo crafts at a traditional vocational village, visiting Japanese companies such as Nichias Haiphong, and visiting the capital Hanoi and the World Heritage Site of Trang An.

One of the participants will remain in Haiphong until March 22, and will receive practical training in Japanese language education at Haiphong University!

This program is scheduled to run again next year, so interested students are welcome to participate!
