"Business Communication" Class: Project Activities in Cooperation with Companies

In the general educatoion class "Business Communication" taken by 14 Japanese students and 12 international students, students learn business communication skills needed in business environments such as Japanese companies and Japanese companies overseas through project activities. In the project activities, students discuss actual problems faced by companies in Ibaraki Prefecture and propose solutions to the companies based on specific surveys and pilot cases. This class is conducted in cooperation with the Ibaraki Prefectural Small Business Association, with the participation of four companies: Life Support Yamano, Sofners, Tsukuba Foods and Sanwa Foods.

On Monday, April 21, we invited the managers of four companies and asked them to give an overview of each company and the problems they would like the students to solve. The students will now work in mixed groups of international and Japanese students to come up with solutions to the problems faced by each company!
