"Business Communication" Class: Company Visit (Sanwa Shokuhin Co., Ltd.)

In the Business Communication class (taken by 14 Japanese students and 12 international students), students learn business communication skills needed in business environments such as Japanese companies and Japanese-affiliated companies overseas through project activities. In the project activities, students discuss actual problems faced by companies in Ibaraki Prefecture and propose solutions to the companies based on research and pilot cases.

On Friday, May 2, 4 students visited Sanwa Shokuhin Co. Ltd., one of the companies cooperating with the project. Sanwa Shokuhin's challenge is to facilitate communication between technical interns and Japanese employees. During the visit, the students first asked questions about further issues and points they had thought about in response to the previous discussion (https://cge.lae.ibaraki.ac.jp/news/2025/0422.html). Then, they were allowed to enter the actual production site and interviewed Japanese employees and technical interns.

Sanwa Shokuhin actively holds events to promote interaction among employees and exchanges with the local community. In addition, the manager and technical trainees exchange diaries in order to teach Japanese language. Therefore, the employees already get along well in the workplace.

After the tour, students had a chance to taste the chicken produced by Sanwa Shokuhin. Thank you, Sanwa Shokuhin for the cooperation!
