"Business Communication" Class: Company Visit (Tsukuba Foods)

In the Business Communication class (taken by 14 Japanese students and 12 international students), students learn business communication skills needed in business environments such as Japanese companies and Japanese-affiliated companies overseas through project activities. In the project activities, students discuss actual problems faced by companies in Ibaraki Prefecture and propose solutions to the companies based on research and pilot cases.

On Friday, May 24, the three students in charge of the project visited Tsukuba Foods, a company that is cooperating with the project. The challenge for Tsukuba Foods was to determine how well the company's corporate philosophy, vision, and mission are embraced by its employees and, if necessary, how to encourage greater adoption. During the visit, we toured the factory to experience the corporate atmosphere firsthand. Then, together with President Daisuke Yamaki and Yuta Takanobu of the General Affairs Department, the students discussed the results of a questionnaire that had been conducted with Tsukuba Foods employees beforehand. The students commented on the positive atmosphere at Tsukuba Foods, attributing it to the combination of a homey atmosphere and a sincere attitude toward food products.

Thank you, Tsukuba Foods for the cooperation!
