Japanese Field Studies: Kairakuen (Tuesday, May 20)
On Tuesday, May 20, 23 exchange students enrolled in the Japanese Language Program's "Japanese Field Studies" course visited Kairakuen in Mito. With the guidance of volunteer tour guides, they learned about the history of plum trees and the origins of the garden. At Kobuntei, they explored traditional Japanese architecture and interior design. Walking through the garden allowed the students to experience the harmony between nature and space, deepening their understanding of Japanese culture and aesthetics.
