🌏Enjoying Summer Through International Exchange! Blueberry Picking @ Ami Campus🍇
On Friday, July 18th, a lively international exchange event took place at Ibaraki University’s Ami Campus: Blueberry Picking Day!
A total of 32 participants—including international and Japanese students from Ibaraki University and Ibaraki Prefectural University of Health Sciences, as well as members of the Ami Town International Exchange Association—gathered to enjoy nature and deepen cross-cultural friendships.
Participants included:
Ibaraki University Ami Campus: 14 people (international students, Japanese students, and faculty)
Ibaraki Prefectural University of Health Sciences: 16 people (Taiwanese short-term trainees, Japanese students, and faculty)
Ami Town International Exchange Association: 2 members
The event was held at the blueberry farm of the Center for International Field Agricilture Research and Education, under the guidance of Professor Masakazu Komatsuzaki.
As participants picked blueberries, conversations flowed in Japanese, English, and Chinese—creating a vibrant and heartwarming scene of international friendship.
After enjoying the fresh blueberries, everyone joined in a classic Japanese summer activity: a watermelon-splitting contest!
For many international students, it was their first time experiencing something they had only seen in anime or dramas.
Laughter and cheers filled the air as everyone had fun and made unforgettable summer memories together 🌞🍉
