General Education Course “Public Society: University-Wide Regional Project-Based Learning IV” (Monday, July 21)

In "Public Society: University-Wide Community-Based Project-Based Learning IV," a General Education Course taught by faculty from the Center for Global Engagement, students engage in activities to understand the challenges of an increasingly multicultural community and consider what they can do as community members to promote multicultural coexistence.
This year, we received cooperation from the Hitachinaka City International Association, Japanese Classroom RUNRUN, and two companies within Hitachinaka City.

On Monday, July 21st, participants enjoyed 'RunRun Day' held in Hitachinaka City. Everyone had a great time tasting dishes from the Philippines, Indonesia, India, China, the UK, and the United States, all prepared by learners from the Japanese Classroom RUNRUN. Additionally, students from Ibaraki University, together with the Japanese Classroom RUNRUN learners, reported on their corporate visits in Hitachinaka City in June (visits to Komatsu Ibaraki Plant and Kyokuyo Foods Co., Ltd. Hitachinaka Factory). They also played games planned by Ibaraki University students and listened to presentations about their home countries from children originating from the Philippines, making for an enjoyable day.
