International Students and Local Residents Connect at Ami Town’s “Sawayaka Fair”(Sunday, October 26)

On Sunday, October 26, 2025, Ami Town hosted the “Sawayaka Fair,” an event designed to promote local organizations and public services. In collaboration with the Town Residents’ Activities Division of the Town Residents’ Life Department and the Ami Town International Exchange Association, a booth was set up to showcase the countries and regions of international students through cultural displays and the sale of items from their home countries.

Five international students from Indonesia studying at the Ami Campus, along with two Japanese students participating as part of the iOP program at Ibaraki University, took part in this initiative. The students created informative posters introducing their cultures and daily lives, and warmly engaged with visitors. The booth also featured a variety of Indonesian goods, including crafts and food items, offering attendees a chance to experience the charm of another culture firsthand.

Throughout the day, many local residents were seen actively interacting with the students, creating a welcoming atmosphere that transcended language and cultural differences. For the international students, it was a valuable opportunity to connect with the local community, and for all participants, the event proved to be a meaningful and enriching experience.
