Exchange Gathering for the Vietnam Short-Term Study Program (Thursday,February 12)
On Tuesday, February 12, we held an exchange gathering for participants of the Vietnam Short-Term Study Program at the Vietnamese restaurant “Ao Baba” in Mito City. A total of 34 people joined the event, including students who joined the program in 2023, 2024, and 2025, 13 students who will participate in March 2026, a former faculty member from Hai Phong University, and the supervising faculty member.
The gathering was filled with lively conversations and delicious Vietnamese food. Students who will join the program this year had the chance to hear directly from senior participants and a former Hai Phong University instructor about what the program is really like. Students going this year naturally bonded with one another, while past participants enjoyed reminiscing about their experiences and catching up on their current lives. Some alumni of Ibaraki University also attended, showing how connections formed during the program have continued long after returning to Japan.
This year marks the fourth Vietnam study program in collaboration with Hai Phong University. Many students have maintained their friendships even after the program—some have even visited Hai Phong again together. These ongoing connections highlight the unique value of this program.
We look forward to seeing the new learning and friendships that will grow from the upcoming program in March!
