Guest Speaker for "Multicultural Society and Japanese Education"(Wednesday, April 22)

On April 22, 2026, in the Japanese Language Teacher Training Program course "Multicultural Society and Japanese Education," we welcomed Ms. Miyako Senba, an adjunct lecturer at Ibaraki University, representative of the Hitachinaka Japanese Language Classroom Runrun, and a community coexistence promoter for the Ibaraki Prefecture Community Coexistence Coordination Promotion Project, as a guest speaker. She spoke about the current state of community Japanese language education and her practices in community Japanese language education. It was a valuable opportunity to hear from her, who has been active in this field for many years, about various initiatives for promoting community Japanese language education through collaboration between the private sector, government, and community Japanese language classrooms, in order to meet the increasingly diverse needs of learners and to establish a multicultural society together.

She also answered questions from students such as "How do you teach learners at different levels?" and "How do you deal with the diverse backgrounds of learners?", allowing us to consider community Japanese language education from various perspectives.
