Japanese Field Studies A: Visit to Kairakuen and the Museum of Modern Art, Ibaraki (Tuesday, July 7)

On Tuesday, July 7, 20 exchange students enrolled in the Japanese Language Program's Japanese Field Studies A course visited Kairakuen Garden and the Museum of Modern Art, Ibaraki, in Mito.

In the morning, the students toured Kairakuen with volunteer guides, learning about the history and cultural significance of one of Japan's most famous gardens. At Kobuntei, they explored traditional Japanese architecture and gained a deeper appreciation of Japanese culture.

In the afternoon, they visited the Museum of Modern Art, Ibaraki, where they viewed a variety of modern and contemporary Japanese and international artworks. Through observing the exhibitions and discussing their impressions, the students further broadened their understanding of Japanese art and culture, making the excursion a valuable learning experience.
