Joint Disaster Prevention Seminar and Evacuation Drill with Mito City

On September 17, 2026, we held a disaster prevention seminar and evacuation drill at the Ibaraki University International Exchange Hall with the support of Disaster Prevention and Risk Management Division of Mito City, Mito City International Association, and the Mito Gender Equality Association. A total of 37 participants attended, including 32 international students and 5 Japanese students residing at the International Exchange Hall.

In the disaster preparedness seminar, participants received an explanation on disaster preparedness and practiced using fire extinguishers. They also learned about cooking utensils and methods that can be used during disasters and received emergency rations prepared using those methods. Furthermore, after the disaster preparedness seminar, an evacuation drill was conducted as an opportunity to put what they had learned into practice, deepening their understanding of how to respond in an emergency.
