Visiting 23 RD studio "Japanese Pop Culture B" Class(Wednesday,June 19)

In the "Japanese Pop Culture B" class offered by the Center for Global Engagement, students are considering how to revitalize the town near the Mito campus with the cooperation of LEIDEAS. The class is taken by 7 Japanese students and 14 international students.

On Wednesday, June 19, the students visited 23RD studio which is operated by LEIDEAS, and went out for fieldwork to see what kind of initiatives they are working on. On the way, we strolled through the Mito Romantic Zone, visiting an old ryotei (Japanese-style restaurant) and a doll store that had closed, in an attempt to understand the current status of the Romantic Zone's revitalization. They also visited the hydrangeas that are in full bloom at Howaen.

Next week, we will take a walk around the Mito campus and consider how it can be revitalized like the 23rd studio!
