映画『ミリキタニの猫《特別篇》』オンラインディスカッション（1月19日(水)）

1月19日（水）、映画『ミリキタニの猫《特別篇》』オンラインディスカッションを行いました。 このイベントは、グローバル教育センターの教員2名の担当授業であるDiversity and Social Issues in Japan BとIntercultural Training Method Bを履修している学生および茨城大学の学生・教職員を対象に行うもので、イベントではグループに分かれ、 第二次世界大戦中に起こった日系人強制収容から現代にまでつながる移民問題を話し合い、考えを深めました。 さらに、現代の日本における移民問題にも目を向け、自分たちが社会のためにできるについても話し合いを行いました。 参加した学生からは、日系アメリカ人の歴史について知ることができた、留学生の体験などを聞くことができ、参加してよかった、という声が聞かれました。

On January 19, we organized the online discussion on the film “Cats of Mirikitani (Special Edition)”. This event was held as part of the two classes of the faculty members from Center for Global Education, Diversity and Social Issues in Japan B and Intercultural Training Method B; while it was open to the Ibaraki University students, staff, and faculty members as well. In this event, we had group discussions regarding from incarceration of Japanese Americans during WWII to current immigration issues in Japan and other parts of the world, etc., and discussed what we can do for the society. Participants commented “I was able to know about Japanese American history,” “I was glad to hear experiences from international students.”
